Teddy Bear Tea Party

Today we had a Teddy Bear Tea Party. We lined up all of our bear friends and served them tea and rainbow rice. She made sure each had a bowl and spoon and today was raspberry tea.  We ran to Target quick to get mommy some medicine (woke up with a really bad sinus headache) where she got to pick out Tinkerbell bandaids. We tried to stop at a park but only stayed for a few minutes it was freezing cold and the winds from hurricane Sandy were kind of crazy.  Emma ate Ten Tortellini for lunch and had Teds in a Bed chocolate spoons with hot chocolate and Teddy Bear car treat.  We ready Fancy Nancy Tea for Two, Ruby's Tea Party, and other T books.  We tickled Lauren's toes all day (every time I put socks on Lauren, emma took them off to tickle her toes, poor baby had cold feet all day).  She earned Tickets for letting out the dog, getting stuff off the printer for mommy and helping daddy pick up the entire house room by room while mommy was at boot camp.  Emma needs to earn 25 tickets to get to go to a hotel and swim.  Emma was playing with her princess castle and decided Lauren needed to wear a crown.  Lauren also surprised us today by reaching back and picking up her pacifier off the floor and putting it in her mouth.

Getting Stronger & Painting pumpkins

Lauren is getting stronger each week, she can now pick up her head and chest and lift a toy off the ground while playing. 

Emma painted pumpkins on Sunday night, we mixed some baking soda in with the paint and then sprayed it with vinegar after painted to watch it fizz and bubble (girls need math and science to succeed!)  I really didn't want to scoop out the pumpkin guts and carve the pumpkin and she had probably just as much fun doing this at least for now.

Snowball Fight in October

We had a Super Spectacular S day.  We made a Spider waffle for breakfast with strawberries, string cheese and chocolate chips for eyes.  We did 2 science experiments, Emma loved both of them (hopefully she'll love math and science like her daddy).  We did a sparkly explosion with vinegar, baking soda, glitter and food coloring, we repeated several times.  Then we blew up a halloween ghost with baking soda and vinegar, Emma liked drawing the faces on the balloons,we also did this several times.  Mid morning we hit 2 parks, her favorite Lions Park where there is a tire Swing and then Derk park, why 2?  The first didn't have any little girls for her to play with, she asked 2 girls to play and they both said no so we tried a different park to find new friends.  She Spun on the park toy and walked across the Steps.  For lunch we ate a spider snack.  After rest time we made "snow" and had a snowball fight outside -this was probably the most fun we have had in a long time, emma was throwing snowballs at me and chasing me and me doing the same with her, we were covered in our snow mixture and while I wasn't looking she got Lauren too who thought it was hilarious.  We worked on drawing our shapes as well. 

Really Fun Day

Tuesday was R day.  We played tea party again, this time we used the Rainbow Rice we made the night before for our sensory activity of the day, Emma made soup and other pretend food items for our tea party and then we decided to give Lauren a sensory experience as well.  Emma went a little overboard sprinkling her with rice but baby thought it was funny, it was neat to see lauren looking at Emma so sweetly.  We did have rice inside her diaper, all over the floor and continue to find it in mysterious places.  We met friends at Kidztown in Green Bay to play for the morning and then headed to Grandma's to Rest (which really didn't happen but we tried). Emma was of course drawn to the princess room first where she dressed up as a bride (I'm going to try to find a used dress/veil like this from santa she loved it so much)  We Read a lot of books on Tuesday to try to hit the 1000 books before Kindergarten goal the library has set, every 100 books earns a prize.  i also included one of Lauren, we have a thumb sucker on our hands and are doing everything we can to stop it in it's tracks before it becomes a very bad habit to break later in life.

LLBean (Little Lauren Bean)

We called Emma peanut so now we call Lauren LLBean.  She was dressing like a hippie and wearing daddy's hat.  She loves to play hide and seek and has discovered a new favorite book Polar Bear and Friends because it's crinkly, so she played hide and seek with it twice today.

Quite the Day (Q)

Q day was a tough one to plan, so we met our friend Lydia and Makayla at rainbow play systems and played on their inside swingsets and went to Happy Joes for lunch.  We made baked cottonballs and smashed them with a hammer to see how much they would squish and crack.  We had Quiet time reading books at the library and played a game of 5 Little Ducks in the sink to match our book.  "5 little ducks went out one day over the hill and far away mother duck called Quack Quack Quack Quack and only 4 little ducks came back and on and on and on....

P

P was a very busy day.  We played princess tea party, we worked on Pouring our tea and filling the Pots.  We went to the Park after dance and went down the fire Pole and Played in the leaves (jumping off Park benches).  We ate peanut butter and jelly for lunch and read Pinkalicious books at nap and played Pinkalicious games online.  After nap Emma got a Pedicure.  We also went on a Pumpkin scavenger hunt, she gets to turn in her pumpkins when she wants, she chose to go to Cherry Berry with daddy tonight while mommy went to boot camp class.  Lauren and Emma played pretend, Emma dressed Lauren as Abby cadaby from Sesame street.  You will also notice Lauren has learned to wipe her own spit up with the burp cloth.
